CARSON CITY, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- The Nevada Department of Transporation says they're one step closer to making the Carson bypass a reality.
The planned bypass stretches from the north of U.S. 395 to Fairview Drive.
NDOT has the right-of-way to construct, but has struggled to come up with the money for the project. In total, the section of the bypass is expected to cost NDOT about $63 million.
NDOT says fundraising is "promising" and hopes to have the money by 2016.
