CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — A Carson City woman shot and wounded by her ex-boyfriend has been released from the hospital.

Juanita Perry told the Nevada Appeal her 19-year-old daughter, Cassidy Perry, is doing well after being shot in the head.

Cassidy Perry's former boyfriend, Michael Brentlinger, is accused of forcing his way into her home in Carson City early Saturday morning and fatally shooting her 52-year-old father, Guy Perry, before shooting her.

Investigators say both were shot with a .45-caliber pistol.

The 22-year-old Brentlinger fled the scene and committed suicide Monday when confronted by Reno police at a park.

Police say Brentlinger and Cassidy Perry had lived together until November. She obtained a restraining order against him Dec. 5 after he was arrested on suspicion of trespassing on her property.
