RENO, Nev. ( & KRNV) -- The man who was originally sentenced to life in prison for breaking into several homes, but got off on a technicality, is now back in court.

At the time, police were calling the string of burglaries the 'Caughlin Ranch door-kick burglaries.' Kevin Fitzsimmons was originally sentenced under the repeat offender law. Monday, he's going to be sentenced after pleading guilty to a reduced number of crimes.

News 4 has a reporter in the court room to find out more about the technicality, and what Fitzsimmons's new sentence will be.
