STATELINE, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- The American Century Celebrity Golf Tournament is back in town for it's 25th run, featuring tons of star power and raising funds for local and national charities.
This year, the event features a record purse of $600,000. The tournament, a 54-hole modified Stableford format, has more than 80 of sports and entertainment's greatest celebrities participating. Just as the tournament kicked off at Edgewood, News 4's Alyx Sacks spoke with how-to-host Brittany Gilbert from Korbel and got the scoop on the spray-off competition, hole-in-one competition and the Korbel Toast Life Foundation.
The spray-off competition invites celebrities to pop a bottle of Korbel Champagne--after shaking it of course--and the celebrity's cork that travels the farthest wins $5,000 for their charity of choice.
"The spray-off competition is early Thursday morning and the hole-in-one competition is Friday morning." Gilbert said. "Celebrities get a kick out of the spray off competition."
Gilbert also showed News 4 featured celebratory signature cocktails that will be served at the event, and how to make them right at home.
