RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- With over twenty clinics inside the Reno VA Hospital, the halls can get congested. Now, one-stop Kiosks are open for patients to check into appointments and update personal information.
"This just speeds up the process, makes it more efficient," said Public Affairs Officer Darin Farr. "(It) offers the convenience of not having to go to more than one place."
The kiosks combine what are normally three steps into one, without waiting in line or filling out paperwork. Kiosks are already inside VA outstation clinics across northern Nevada.
Farr said the machines are a year in the works, despite a recent internal audit of VA hospitals across the nation. "When they walk in the door, make it as effortlessly as possible for them to walk in, check in, sit down, wait for their name to be called back to go back and meet with the doctor."
The kiosks are just two days old, but will eventually be placed in front of all regular and specialty clinics throughout the hospital.
