RENO, Nev. ( & KRNV) -- The Churchill County School District will be paying out more than half a million dollars to settle a hazing lawsuit.

Documents from the U.S. District Court show that the total settlement is $712,500 to be paid by the district. It will be split up to cover attorney's fees, medical expenses and pain and suffering for the victim.

The settlement stems from an incident during an out of town wrestling tournament in Las Vegas on December 3, 2010. A 15-year-old wrestler was stripped of his clothes, taped to a coffee table, spanked with a spatula and put outside a hotel room balcony.

Attorney Cal Dunlap represented the victims' family. He said, "Our goal was and is to change things, and we've been assured that the school district is going to work hard on reforming this behavior."

In addition to the settlement money from the school district, several of the students involved and their parents are having to pay out about $60 to the family.
