Sparks Hometowne Christmas which was set to begin Friday, November 30 with the annual tree lighting ceremony, has been postponed till next weekend.

According to Adam Mayberry, PIO for the City of Sparks, the weekend festivities will instead take place on Friday, December 7 and Saturday, December 8, 2012. Due to the weather conditions that are expected this weekend, which includes high winds and a flood warning, the City of Sparks decided to postpone the activities, in order to best use the city's resources.

The tree lighting will be on Friday, December 7, from 6:30-7pm in front of the St. Mary's Amphitheater on Victorian Avenue. The parade will be from 1-3pm on Saturday, December 8.

The IndieReno Craft Faire in the Sparks Heritage Museum at 814 Victorian Avenue and Train Depot (Special Events Office at 831 Victorian Avenue) is still scheduled for Friday, November 30 from 6-9pm and Saturday, December 1, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
