LAS VEGAS, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- Clark County officials say they still need to hire hundreds of teachers for the upcoming school year.

The district is still 650 teachers short of the approximately 18,000 teachers needed on more than 350 campuses.

32 schools may begin the school year with at least five teacher vacancies.

District officials say the Nevada Department of Education has quit granting temporary licenses to teachers, which were allowed last year as emergency relief.

The school year in Clark County begins August 25.
