RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- The topic of raising tuition at state colleges and universities has taken center stage Tuesday. Hearings are scheduled on northern Nevada college campuses, where students could be facing higher fees next school year.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reports the proposed fee hikes range from about 2% to 4%. Another proposal calls for fee increases of about 4% annually for UNR and UNLV undergraduates, peaking at $224 per credit hour in 2018-19.
