DENVER (AP) — Colorado state Sen. Evie Hudak is apologizing for comments she made to a rape victim who testified against a bill banning concealed-carry weapons on college campuses.

Hudak, a Democrat from Westminster, told Amanda Collins, 27, of Reno, Nev., the rapist could have used the gun against her. Hudak said after the meeting her job is to keep the safety of all college campus students in mind.

According to the Denver Post Collins on Tuesday said Hudak's comments were shocking and disturbed her deeply.

The AP generally doesn't identify people who say they are the victims of sexual assault, but Collins testified at a public meeting that had she been permitted to use her concealed-carry permit and carry her gun on campus, the incident may have ended differently.

pops; Beyond her looks, the point is that EVERYONE,Male or Female, should be armed and shouldn't NEED a CCW to carry Concealed. As much as I'd like to see it happen,we'll NEVER be able to keep Criminals and Mentally unstable people from getting guns. The absolute BEST thing we CAN do is remove the CCW requirement in Nevada, but mandate a Gun Training Course to carry a gun at all, much like the "Hunter Safety Class" we have to go through to get our hunting license, only with the same basic information we would use in getting a CCW.
