RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- The classified site, Frauc.com
, has launched an inaugural community yard sale event that will be offered around Northern Nevada this summer. The event is a four-city stop, offering a specific day of yard sales in each city of Reno, Gardnerville, Sparks and Carson. FraucCityWide.com
intends to bring a larger community to garage sales while proceeds go to a local nonprofit, according to a recent press release sent by Frauc.com
spokesperson Leah Scherschel.
“Organized city yard sales offer more traffic for hosts and more stops for shoppers,” said founder, Anthony Sullivan. “It’s a win for everybody who loves the culture of garage sale Saturdays.”
Interested hosts can register online at FraucCityWide.com
for $12 per house, where they submit their address, an image of their house if they so choose, and description of hot items they will be selling. Shoppers can pull the list and map of each location for free.
Each event benefits Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern Nevada; $10 per registration goes to the nonprofit. And the remaining $2 goes to the printing of yard sale signs. Drop off spots for Reno and Sparks will also be designated for each city, where remaining unsold items may be donated to the nonprofit.
Carson will be holding their event July 19, Sparks is set for July 26, Gardnerville for July 26, and Reno for August 9. For more information, visit FraucCitywide.com
