RENO, NV (KRNV & MyNews4.com) --A California company is expanding into Northern Nevada and the move means hundreds of more jobs to the area.

Governor Brian Sandoval will join the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada to announce the expansion of a wireless services company that is estimated to bring at least 400 new jobs to the region over five years.

The wireless services company is currently headquartered in California and is opening up a service support center in South Meadows.

The name of the company will be announced during the news conference, but EDAWN President and CEO Mike Kazmierski tells News 4 it is a recognizable name and the company is doing very well.

Kazmierski also tells News 4 it costs companies 30 to 40% percent less to do business in Nevada than California.

"It's not just low taxes. In fact, we always say if you're coming here for taxes we're really not that interested. We want you to come here to do business here, the quality of life here, to become a part of our community and the taxes are icing on the cake," Kazmierski says.

Kazmierski says they hope to make more announcements in the near future. He tells News 4 they believe nine more companies will announce the move to Reno by June, bringing another some 800 jobs.

News 4 will have a crew at the news conference and bring you the latest on the announcement on News 4 at noon.

Like Texas it will probably be nothing more than minimum wage jobs.

Why do these "jobs" stories consistently omit what these jobs will pay, as if a job itself is intrinsically fairy dust? They're all substandard, high turnover, low-paying jobs! And this is a good thing? No, it's exploitation of the desperate.
