LAKE TAHOE (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- Kingsbury Grade closed on Tuesday, due to impending roadwork, near Daggett Summit down to the intersection of Highway 50 at Stateline.

The closure could last up to two months while crews work to repave the road. The roadway will be closed to traffic near the summit, just east of Tramway Drive.

A detour route over Spooner Summit has been set up for drivers.

Starting Friday, the Department of Transportation will start a paving project on the Mount Rose Highway.

The paving will happen from Timberline Drive in the Montreux area, up to the Mount Rose summit. Drivers will see single lane closures and delays of up to 30 minutes on the two-lane section above the tree line.

Road work will happen night and day Sunday through Friday, and officials expect it to be done in early October.
