RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- On September 16, 2013, Russell Henderson and his wife, Dalaiah Johnson were arrested on charges of Elder Abuse, Elder Exploitation and Theft, related to the care of a 64-year-old male disabled victim and an 85-year-old female victim.
Reno Police say, Russell Henderson, 46, was driving a commercial taxicab designed for disabled persons and befriended each victim while providing cab service. Within the last couple of years, Henderson brought each victim into his home to live with him and his wife, Dalaiah Johnson, 26. The victims are not related to each other.
In August 2013, Reno Police say a male victim was admitted to the hospital with severe medical complications due to the lack of appropriate care. During the investigation, detectives discovered that, in addition to not providing proper physical care, Russell Henderson was accessing the both victim’s bank accounts and withdrawing large sums of money for his personal use.
Since being in a proper care facility for the past six weeks, the victim’s health has dramatically improved.
Russell Henderson was charged with Neglect of Elderly, Elder Exploitation, and Theft. Dalaiah Johnson was charged
with a Neglect of Elderly Person.
