SPARKS, Nev. (AP) -- A judge has given prosecutors until Monday to file formal drug charges against three suspected drug traffickers arrested after a fourth man in their SUV fled the scene of a traffic stop, stole a Nevada state trooper's cruiser and fatally shot himself in the chest with the patrolman's shotgun.
The three suspects are being held at the Washoe County Jail in Reno on $150,000 bail. They made an initial appearance before a Sparks Justice Court judge via a video hookup on Thursday but the proceeding was continued into next week because the district attorney's office has not yet filed the criminal complaint.
Like Monday's apparent suicide victim, 22-year-old Devin Peterson, the suspects all are from Jacksonville, Fla., -- 29-year-old Mollie Bass, 29-year-old Manuel Rodriguez and 23-year-old Christian Magliano.
