SPARKS, Nev. (KRNV & -- Black Friday shopping is over, but that doesn't mean you can't pick up some great presents this weekend.

Carolers sang and a band played setting the mood at the Crafts for Christmas fair at John Ascuaga's Nugget.

The crafts range from classic to creative. There's something for everyone: jewelry, clothes, custom ornaments, and even salsa - all local. "

"It's something that people put a lot of work into and try to sell for good things," said 11-year-old Destiny Fontenot.

Destiny is helping out in her family's booth to raise money for a student ambassadors trip to Canada.

"I just can't wait," she said. "This is my first trip ever and I'm so excited."

Vendor Susan Schott says the event is great for promoting goods.

"Most people are local," Schott said. "From here they're going to look up our store because they love what they see."

There are also services like dog training for that puppy you're thinking about putting under the tree.

No christmas fair would be complete without a visit to Santa Claus and, of course, Rudolph was there for the pictures too.

"The kids here in the Reno Sparks area are the greatest kids around," Santa said.

Crafts for Christmas continues ends at 7 p.m. Saturday then it picks up again Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be a special reading of "The Polar Express" by John Ascuaga himself at one o'clock, and Santa will be back from noon until 3 p.m.
