TONOPAH, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- The woman who died in a crash in Tonopah on Saturday, Nov. 10 has been identified.
Nevada Highway Patrol says the crash happened around on US6, east of mile marker 48 in Tonopah. The preliminary investigation indicates a red 1999 Nissan Quest with two passengers was traveling westbound on US6. For an unknown reason, the 1999 Nissan crossed over the centerline through the eastbound travel lane and onto the south dirt shoulder. The Nissan's front hit a paddle marker and overturned.
NHP says The driver, 76-year-old John Lehan from Las Vegas, was extricated from the Nissan and sustained injuries to his upper body and was transported to Nye County Hospital. The passenger, 71-year-old Sharon Lehan from Las Vegas, died from her injuries at the scene. Both occupants were wearing their seat belts and it is unknown at this time if alcohol was a factor in this incident, NHP says.
