Crash on Highway 50 in Carson City causes serious injuries

UPDATE - 2:35PM - According to Trooper Chuck Allen with Nevada Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 11:45 on U.S. Highway 50, just east of Flint Drive. The driver of a 1999 silver Mitsubishi Mirage sedan was traveling westbound and his car crossed over into the opposite lane going eastbound and crashed head-on with a 2010 white Kia Soul.

The driver of the Mitsubishi was alone. His injuries are critical and was transported via Care Flight, Allen says. The female passenger in the Kia was airlifted by a separate Care Flight. The Kia driver was airlifted by CalStar; both have serious injuries

At 1:20 pm the lanes, all lanes were opened. Allen does not believe alcohol was involved and they are still investigating.

CARSON CITY, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) - The Nevada Highway Patrol tells News 4, two cars were involved in a head-on crash on Highway 50 at Dump Hill.

The number of injuries is not immediately clear, but there were critical injuries and a number of medical helicopters were called to the area.

Two eastbound lanes are blocked and one westbound lane is blocked due to the crash.

why is there still no divider after all these years!!!! put our tax money to use!!! instead of blowing it on $30 dollar rolls of t.p.

When are people going to learn how to drive? Not play with their cell phone, radio, maps, burger, argue with the kids, drive sleepy, play with the pet in their laps. etc. Why should the taxpayers have to pay to protect careless drivers?
