RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- A piece of history is being put up for auction.
The 155 page journal contains entries from the "Boy General" George Armstrong Custer in his own handwriting on about eight pages. The entries involve the purchases of several thoroughbreds and trotters for Custer's own racing stable.
The journal is being offered for sale at $1.5 million auction.
A preview will be held on Friday, Dec. 7 at the Holabird Office in Reno. The auction will be Saturday, Dec. 8 at the Atlantis Casino. Bidding will be live, by phone or via the internet.
