Reno, NV (KRNV & MyNews4.com) --Multiple law enforcement agencies are on the scene of two active crime scenes in Reno. The first, at the Shoppers Square Mall on Plumb Lane, the second outside of the Peppermill Casino on Virginia Street.

Just after 5 p.m. on Sunday evening, officers with the Reno Police Department responded to reports of a robbery at the CVS drugstore located inside the Shoppers Square mall.

Shortly after the call was made, a high speed pursuit ensued down Virginia Street, and ended in front of the Peppermill  where there was a shooting involving police officers

The suspect, only described as a male, apparently fled the scene at the Shoppers Square in a white pickup truck, and headed in the direction of the Peppermill.

According to Lieutenant Oliver Miller with the Reno Police Department, the suspect was taken into custody and is currently at Renown medical center, his condition is unknown.

Lieutenant Miller says he cannot confirm or deny reports that the suspect was armed, although a gun was visible on the sidewalk of the crime scene. Police are also not releasing any information as to how many officers were involved in the incident, nor how many shots were fired. An active investigation remains underway.

Reno Police are asking anyone who witnessed the chase and/or shooting unfold are asked to call the Reno police department.

SO chromejob, are you justifying armed robbery? How is the "old city money" robbing us blind? I agree with Sierra11, in the early 80s when I moved here, downtown was a hustling/bustling area that you could walk all over from casino to casino and not get accosted or robbed. It's so much worse now.

There's a lot going on that we never hear about. The old city money can rob us blind, but don't be sticking up a CVS. Dylan said something like, "Steal a little and they throw you in jail, steal a lot and they make you king."

Am I the only one disturbed by all these shootings, stabbings, robberies and theft's? Anyone remember Reno when you could walk down Virginia Street at Midnight and not have to worry about being stabbed or shot? I find this unacceptable, I feel for the Police. Either society or dirtbags moving into the area are responsible, what a shame.
