SPARKS, NV (Mynews4.com & KRNV) – Judy Sutherland says her two year old bichon frise Reggie, helped Sparks Police nab a man they were chasing through her neighborhood.
Ms. Sutherland tells News 4 she was reading the paper, when she looked out her window and saw police cars. She let Reggie outside, and that was when the dog started barking loudly. Sutherland went outside and could see something at the bottom of the stairwell beside her house so she shouted for police.
According to Sparks Police Officer Matt Marquez, they were looking for a man who had a warrant out for his arrest. Marquez says when he heard Judy shouting they immediately rushed to her backyard. That is where they found the dog chasing the suspect over the fence right into the hands of police.
Sparks Police say they arrested 45 year old, John Dennis. Marquez says Reggie deserves a lot of credit for his help in located the suspect.
