Domestic abuse results in stabbing

RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- Reno Police responded to a report of a stabbing around 8 p.m. Wednesday night at a motel in the 300 block of West 2nd street.

When officials arrived, they reportedly found a 50-year-old man with at least one stab wound to the chest. Initially, the victim's girlfriend told officers the victim was stabbed by another man who ran away.

After the initial investigation began, officers realized that the woman, Heather Claire Gallagher, had allegedly stabbed the victim. The 36-year-old Gallagher was arrested and booked on charges of battery with a deadly weapon and domestic battery.

The victim was taken to Renown Medical Center in critical condition. Any information regarding this incident can be relayed to Secret Witness at 322-4900.
