FALLON, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- Fallon will be in the national boxing spotlight on Friday night.

ESPN will televise their Friday Night Fights program featuring matches from Fallon. Officials held a press conference about the event on Wednesday at John Ascuaga's Nugget.

Dynasty Boxing has been promoting a Chinese heavyweight who will be making his pro debut in Fallon, and Reno native Oscar Vasquez will also be featured.

Five-time World Heavyweight Champion Evander Holyfield said boxing has taken a hit because of promotion. "This is a local event and it's a lot easier in local areas, because people come together. Boxing is kind of falling off, because in my opinion, they don't promote amateur boxing enough to get people excited about it."

Weigh-in for the event is Thursday at 5 p.m., and the event will be broadcast on ESPN2 at 6 p.m. local time on Friday.
