Earthquake felt 9 miles west of Hawthorne

Reno, Nev. ( & KRNV) - The U.S. Geological Survey is reporting that a 3.1 magnitude earthquake was felt early Friday morning in Northern Nevada.

They say that the quake hit 9 miles west of Hawthorne at 6:03 a.m.

Since then, a number of smaller aftershocks have been reported.

seems 2 me the USGS would record a earthquake, while People would "feel" and report (to the sheriff) one of these mild temblors.
