EL DORADO COUNTY, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- New investigator position aims to help one frequently targeted group of people in El Dorado County: the elderly.
El Dorado Sheriffs will be adding a new detective bureau to help fight against elder abuse and financial crimes. The county's elderly population (people 65 years and older) is more than 31 percent.
Across the nation, more than half a million reports of abuse against the elderly are reported each year and it's estimated millions more go unreported.
