Elko man drops out of Sheriff race

ELKO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- An Elko man who was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving minutes after filing his candidacy for County Sheriff has dropped out of the race.

The Elko Daily Free Press reports that Ronald Rylander voluntarily withdrew his candidacy on Tuesday. He remains in the Elko County Jail following his March 13 arrest near the Elko County Courthouse on a third-offense DUI charge.

Criminal charges have not yet been filed.
