Colfax, CA (KRNV & MyNews4.com)-- A train derailment in Colfax, California has caused a business sector to be evacuated. Cal Fire confirms the crash and evacuation and says that there have been no injuries due to the crash reported.

According to officials with Cal Fire, a total of five cars were derailed, none fell over. Of those cars, three were empty and one contained standard household items. The fifth car tilted slightly and began leaking a liquid. The liquid is not believed to be hazardous, but as a precaution about 100 residents and businesses in downtown Colfax were evacuated. The local high school gym was opened to hold those displaced by the spill.

Cal Fire says that they expect the situation to be resolved shortly.

News Four has contacted Amtrak about the crash, but they have not issued a statement yet.
