FALLON, Nev. (AP) — A 26-year-old former sailor stationed at Naval Air Station Fallon has been sentenced to up to nearly 20 years in prison for attempted lewdness with a child under the age of 14.

The Lahontan Valley News reports Michael Henderson was sentenced Tuesday to between seven and 20 years in prison for abusing a girl who was 12 years old at the time.

Henderson pleaded guilty to the single count of lewdness in April.

Police say the girl had been staying at Henderson's home for a sleepover with one of his children when the incident occurred last August.

The girl told police he attempted to touch her legs, back and buttocks.
