Ex-NV Court Justice Rose hospitalized after wreck

UPDATE - 4:30PM - Stapleton says that a 2002 Blue Nissan SUV was traveling eastbound on US50 in the #1 travel lane driven by Rose drifted left across the westbound travel lanes and off the roadway. The Nissan’s right front struck a power pole and the vehicle overturned.

Rose sustained critical injuries and was transported by ambulance to Banner Churchill Hospital. Rose was later transported by ambulance to Renown Medical Center for further treatment. Stapleton says Rose was wearing his seatbelt and alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this accident.

RENO, Nev. (AP) — Retired Nevada Supreme Court chief justice Bob Rose has been injured in a car accident near Fallon.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reports he was transported to Banner Churchill County Hospital in Fallon on Monday morning but his condition is condition is not known.

The 73-year-old Rose now serves as a senior judge. Supreme Court spokesman Bill Gang says the accident occurred while he was on his way from his Carson City home to preside over the Fallon/Yerington/Hawthorne drug court.

Nevada Highway Patrol trooper Barbara Stapleton says it was a "rollover accident" somewhere between Interstate 80 and U.S. Highway 50 but she doesn't have any more details.
