For 24 years she's been teaching 6 and
7 year olds how to be lifelong learners.
This year is going to be her last...
but before retirement, News Four is proud to give Bonnie Cowles our Excellence
in Education Award.
We surprised Mrs. Cowles with the award
during an assembly at Hunsberger elementary school.
Cowles switched careers at the age of 40 to teach and never looked back.
For 24 years she's been changing with the times when it comes to technology in the
classroom and new teaching techniques.
Her principal says she has high expectations for her students but always treats them with
kindness and dignity.
She has also working really hard to keep up with the changing needs of students.
