RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- Experts and local business leaders met Wednesday morning to discuss the status of northern Nevada's housing market and the economic forecast for 2014. For about a decade Builders Association of Northern Nevada has hosted the annual meeting and organizers believe this year's discussion will be sure to inspire attendees.
The Builders Association of Northern Nevada (BANN) executive director Mike Dillon says the housing market made large strides in northern Nevada in 2013 and 2014 is expected to continue the trend.
"Things are definitely improving," Dillon says. "We saw quite the down turn as Nevada got hit worse than anyone, but that also creates opportunities for us to rebound quicker than anyone."
Dillon says from an economic development standpoint you look to what is happening with employment and what kind of sectors are moving to the area. He says that is why it is important because it effects housing and that is important for the BANN and the community to understand the trends.
The breakfast and presentations were held at the Atlantis Casino Resort in the Paradise Ballroom. Tickets were completely sold out. Dillon says this year's attendance was a success.
BANN is a non-profit organization that aims to help enhance the new home building industry in northern Nevada.
