RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- It's official: on the heels of a recent court settlement Renown Medical Center officials have signed on the dotted line agreeing to pay nearly $5 million to a group of local cardiologists who sued claiming Renown was guilty of breaching their contracts.
That deal was finalized today, and a hospital PR person sent out an email announcing the deal, but making no mention of the dollar amount involved.
Part of the joint statement sent out today reads:
"The parties have resolved their differences and the Renown Board has agreed to meet with the physicians in order to create a productive dialogue."
As we reported earlier, multiple sources close to the case have informed us that this case, including buying two cardiology practices, legal fees, and the settlement with local cardiologists has cost Renown upwards of $15 million. Renown disputes that and the hospital has put out a website challenging some of the information included in our Fact Finder investigation.
