RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- About a half hour ago, Reno Police say they were called to the Bruce R. Thompson Courthouse and Federal Building for a report of a suspicious package found.
As they were on way, they were told by FBI that they were no longer needed. According to Senator Harry Reid spokesperson Kristen Orthman, there was a package of concern in the Senator's Reno office and staff were evacuated. Orthman tells News 4 that local authorities have cleared the package and that Senator Reid's office appreciates their quick response and assistance.
The U.S. Marshall's office in Reno has confirmed to News 4 that the building is now open and that there are no additional concerns and any concerns previously have been satisfied. The U.S. Marshall's Office also stated that the case is now being handled by the Federal Protective Service.
News 4 has left a message with the Federal Protective Service but has not yet heard back.
