RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- There is new information regarding a series of cold cases from 1976, spanning from Reno to the Bay Area.

Officials call them the Gypsy Hill murders, and investigators said they are connected to the murder of 19-year-old University of Nevada student Michelle Mitchell.

FBI officials said they have a lead on a witness. They are looking for a white man, who was in his late 20's to early 30's in 1976. That would place him in his 60's to early 70's now. He was in San Mateo County sometime between January and April of 1976, and had a car with Nevada plates.

Anyone with any information should call the FBI at 415-553-7400. Press zero, and tell them you are calling about the Gypsy Hill cases.
