FALLON, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- The body of a Navy sailor based in Fallon is headed home.

According to officials with the Naval Air Station in Fallon, the unidentified sailor fell from a parking structure in Reno around 5 a.m. on June 1. He was transported to Renown Regional Medical Center after suffering a severe head injury in the fall. His family decided to take him off life support days later.

On Wednesday, a private memorial service was held for the young man, reported to be in his mid-20's. The Patriot Guard escorted the body to the Reno-Tahoe Airport, where it was flown back to his home state.

The cause of the fall was ruled accidental.
