Fallen Reno Police Officers honored at Idlewild Park

RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- It was a gorgeous day for the hundreds of people at Idlewild Park in attendance to thank, honor and remember those who have served and died protecting Reno's safety.

The ceremony started with the family of James Hoff walking to the center of the memorial. Hoff was a Reno Police Officer who was killed in the line of duty in 1979. Other more recent fallen officers were also remembered.

Twenty survivor plaques were handed out to men and women in uniform who's brave actions saved the lives of others. Remarks were also given by Senator Dean Heller and Brian Sandoval.
