SILVER SPRINGS, NV (KRNV & Mynews4.com)- Lyon County Sheriff's Office Detectives are continuing to investigate after a body was found in the Silver Springs area. Authorities are not giving out much information but according to a new release by the LCSO, a woman's body was found in a vehicle off Jacaranda Avenue in Silver Springs Thursday, August 2, 2012. It says the body was beginning to decompose and not readily identifiable.  It also says the body did not have any obvious signs of trauma. The body has been sent to the Washoe County Coroner's Office.

Meanwhile, Amber Jenkins, 20, is missing according to her friends and family. Amber lived in Silver Springs with her boyfriend Tim Pennington, their one year old daughter and Tim's father.  Michelle Rittgers, Amber's aunt, tells News 4 they have not seen or heard from Amber since July 27, 2012.  Rittgers, who lives in Texas, says authorities called the family on Thursday asking about Amber. She says Amber has a tattoo on her ankle and detectives were interested in that information.  She says authorities declined to confirm or deny if there was a matching tattoo on the body.

Detectives are also still looking for Tim Pennington. Pennington is being called a person of interest.  Tim's father Ray says Tim told him he was going to Fernley, and that was the last he heard. He says he told authorities Tim was missing the day after the body was found.  Lyon County Detectives say no missing persons report was filed.

The body was found about a mile from where Amber and Tim live.  Lyon County Detectives would not say if the body they found was Amber Jenkins.

An investigation is ongoing.

I just found out about this and my mom was actually a babysitter for her. Just wanted to say that I'm GLAD THAT THAT BABY DOES NOT HAVE TO GROW UP IN THAT HORRIBLE TOWN.
