RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- The fate of a proposed rock processing plant next to a north Reno neighborhood is in the hands of a Washoe District County Judge.

For over a year, the plan to deveolp a piece of land near the University Ridge neighborhood, which is zoned for industrial use, has been put on hold due to backlash from area neighbors. They argue the area is not suitable for the proposal.

The Planning Commission approved the Special Use Permit for C4 Equities, but after hearing from University Ridge neighbors, the City of Reno rejected the plan. The owner appealed the city's decision and on Thursday, Judge Scott Freeman said he will review the laws before making a decision whether or not they can have access to a use permit.
