WASHINGTON D.C. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- The punishments for drunk driving could be getting more severe. The Federal Safety Board is asking for ignition locks be forced on all convicted drunk drivers' vehicles.
This after the National Transportation Safety Board issued a review of wrong-way crashes. The study shows nearly 70 percent of those accidents are caused by drunk drivers.
About 17 states already have laws requiring ignition locks for DUI offenders, but the NTSB is recommending them for all states, even for first-time offenders.
Every year, about 360 people die in wrong-way crashes.
