CARSON CITY, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- Carson City Health and Human Service authorities say they have found the last potentially rabid puppy. It is the last in a litter of ten puppies born in the Minden area to be tested for the deadly viral disease.
One puppy tested positive for rabies, health officials began searching for its littermates as a precaution. Four puppies from the original litter have been put down, but three tests returned have been negative. Another died shortly after birth, and two more are in quarantine.
The families of the last two are still deciding what to do.
A candlelight vigil for the puppies is scheduled at the Nevada State Legislature on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
