UPDATE: Reno Fire Captain David Gromeman tells News 4, the fire was only in one room, but did send smoke throughout the 3rd floor.

The sprinkler system turned on, but it took fire crews to fully put out the flames. Crews said they smelled a strong gas odor on the 3rd floor, but the cause of the fire is under investigation.

There was no structural damage to the building, except a window in a room.  The contents in the room that the fire was located in were are destroyed.

A restoration company is on scene attempting to get the water out and repair the water damage caused by the sprinkler system
