Fire east of Mono Lake threatens power lines and facilities

BRIDGEPORT, Cal. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) – A fire burning northeast of Mono Lake by Bridgeport in California threatens power lines and facilities in that area.


According to Sierra Front, the Spring Peak Fire has consumed 1,000 acres and a voluntary evacuation has been issued by the Mineral County Fire Chief for the Borealis and Esmeralda Mines.

The historical town of Aurora is also threatened by the blaze. Reports say the fire started around 10 a.m. on Sunday.

There is no word yet on the containment percentage.Stay with News 4 for updates.
