Fire in Elko County has now burned 10,000 acres, 10% contained

TUSCARORA, Nev. (KRNV & -- The Red Cow Fire burning near Tuscarora, Nevada in Elko County has burned 10,000 acres and is 10 percent contained, according to the Bureau of Land Management.

BLM says the area is also an historic mining district with abandoned mine shafts posing safety hazards. The fire is burning in a very remote location with limited access for vehicles and equipment.
