Fires near Winnemucca almost all contained

WINNEMUCCA, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- Fires near Winnemucca are almost all contained, according to the Bureau of Land Management.

The Cosgrave Complex Fires burned 1,588 acres southwest of Winnemucca, Nev., and are 80-percent contained. No structures are threatened however the I-80 corridor, power transmission lines, mule deer and antelope summer and winter range, cultural resources and historical trails are nearby. The fire was initially reported at about 7:45 p.m., Monday, July 2. The cause of the fire was lightning.

BLM says the 36,400 acre Crescent Dune Fire burning is located 15 miles Northwest of Winnemucca, Nev. (Humboldt County), and is 100 percent contained. Full control was established at 3:30 p.m. today.

The 882-acre Cyanco Fire is located seven miles west of Winnemucca, Nev. off Jungo Road (Humboldt County) and is 100 percent contained.
