RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) - Today is the day. More than 30 Honor Flight veterans from Northern Nevada will return home from their trip to Washington D.C. this Sunday, March 27, 2014.
Honor Flight is a nationwide program that transports America's veterans of World War II, Korean and Vietnam Wars to Washington D.C. to visit the war memorials built in honor of their service and sacrifices.
Join Airport Officials and several hundred military supporters from the local community, to welcome these men and women home. The will be welcomed home with hugs and hand hakes, a water arch, bag piper, therapy dogs, music and a military salute in tribute to their service.
Honor Flight is scheduled to return at 3:50 p.m. on Southwest Airlines at the Reno-Tahoe International Airport. News 4 will have a reporter and photographer to capture the special occasion.
