NORTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- Major forest thinning operations are about to begin on Lake Tahoe's north shore this summer. The east side of Brockway Summit above Kings Beach is set to be the first area for treatment.

In all, trees and brush will be reduced on nearly 3,300 acres of forest service lands.

Five other locations along the north shore are also on the schedule. The entire project could take up to 10 years to complete.
