RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- Stefan Humphries, M.D., MBA, medical director of Renown Rehabilitation and former NFL Super Bowl champion, will discuss “concussion management” in a mandatory training for all Great Basin Youth Soccer League (GBYSL) coaches Saturday, Feb. 16, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the school commons area at Damonte Ranch High School, 10500 Rio Wrangler Pkwy, Reno.
The workshop is designed to help coaches make players better and safer and prevent devastating injuries. The training will also include lectures from Dr. Danielle Litoff, physical therapy, and Dr. Dan Staffa, physical therapy, on “knee injury prevention.” A field demonstration with players will also be provided by Physical Therapists Rich Reid, director of Renown’s Rehabilitation Therapy, and John Atherton.
Additional trainings will be provided in the coming weeks leading up to soccer season.
