Reno, NV (MyNews4.com) -- Entering Monday night, former Wolf Pack wide receiver Rishard Matthews had just 10 catches for 110 yards with the Miami Dolphins this season. However, his on-field production took a step up, in a big way, during Monday Night Football at Tampa Bay.
Rishard Matthews had 11 catches for 120 yards and 2 touchdowns in Miami’s 22-19 loss to the Buccaneers. Those are the first two touchdowns of his NFL career. Matthews was given the opportunity to play after Dolphins wide receiver Brandon Gibson tore his patella tendon against the New England Patriots on October 27th.
As a senior with the Pack, Matthews had 91 catches for 1,364 yards with 8 touchdowns. He was picked in the 7th round by Miami in the 2012 NFL Draft.
