RENO, Nev. ( & KRNV) -- The American Heart Association honored former Nevada Head Football Coach Chris Ault at the Annual Heart Ball on Thursday.

Coach Ault received the Heart of Gold Award for for making a difference in the northern Nevada community through his leadership and generosity. Each year, the American Heart Association honors an outstanding northern Nevada resident for their continued support of the lifesaving mission of building healthier lives free of cardiovascular disease and stroke.

"It's a tremendous privilege, to be honest with you," said Ault. "I don't think the Heart Association needs to honor anybody, and you know I'm just proud to have been a part of it."

"I hope we can raise a lot of money for the Heart Association."
