ELKO, Nev. (AP) — A former prostitute accused of attacking another woman with a claw hammer in an Elko County brothel has been bound over for trial on an attempted murder charge.
Lisa Wong was ordered Friday to stand trial in district court in the Aug. 18 attack of Sang Fowler at Sharon's Bar and Brothel in Carlin.
The 49-year-old Wong is accused of hitting Fowler in the head with the hammer and exclaiming during the attack that she intended to kill Fowler. Both women were living at the brothel at the time.
The Elko Daily Free Press reports Friday's preliminary hearing shed little light on a motive for the attack.
Police retrieved a letter from Wong asking for a meeting with the brothel owner and Fowler to resolve an unspecified disagreement.
